Weekend Swimming Lessons

Weekend Swimming Lessons

Weekend swimming lessons for all ages and abilities!

At Cindy’s Swim School, we run over 250 weekend swimming lessons every Saturday and Sunday, welcoming babies, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children at every stage of their swimming journey. Whether your child is just starting out or building technique in the water, our structured lessons are designed to support steady progress in a fun, nurturing environment.

Our weekend swimming lessons take place at four convenient South London pools — St Joseph’s in Streatham, Greenmead in Southfields,  and Riversdale in Wandworth and the Van Gogh Pool in Brixton — all easy to reach from surrounding areas.

Looking for faster progress for kids during the school holidays? Our popular holiday crash courses are a fantastic way for children to boost confidence, improve technique and make real progress in a short time. Visit our swimming courses page to learn more and find the right class for your child.

What we teach

Our weekend swimming lessons support swimmers at every age and stage.

For our youngest swimmers, lessons are all about creating positive early experiences. Through gentle, play-based learning, babies and toddlers learn to feel safe and relaxed in the water, laying strong foundations for lifelong confidence.

As swimmers grow, we focus on developing strong core skills and helping everyboy progress at their own pace. Lessons build confidence, coordination and technique, following a clear, structured pathway with recognised stages and rewards along the way. For more advanced swimmers, sessions shift towards refining technique, improving breathing, and building stamina and speed.

What our customers say…

A wonderful swim school

“Cindy’s Swim School has been a wonderful swim school for my two children. My son (11) and daughter (9) have been learning to swim with Cindy’s since January 2017. The experience – for both of them – has been fantastic and is a major contributing factor to their love of the water. They have had several wonderful teachers as they’ve progressed through the stages, including Betty, Gabriel, Tavis and Alison, but a special mention must go to Frank. The teachers are stars – striking the right balance between patience, encouragement and pushing the swimmers on.” – C F

From a non-swimmer to 25m lengths in 9 months

“Really fantastic teachers and environment. Have been with them for about 9 months. In that time I have gone from a non swimmer to being able to do 25m lengths. All of the teachers are very professional and fun. Really recommend them especially Gabriel and Demetrey.” – Mr Prince

Confidence in the water from the very start

“Paolo has been an amazing teacher for my baby (we attended his lessons between 3-9 months old). But just as importantly he’s made me feel confident about being with my baby in the water and understanding what he can do at such a young age. Thank you Paolo!” – Anna Moore

What to expect

Z

Kids learn in small groups

Children go into the water by themselves (i.e. without parents from approximately 2 years old). They of course will be under the watchful eye of our experienced teachers.
Z

Safe and firm teaching

Whilst our classes are enjoyable, we find children benefit from a firm no-nonsense approach to uphold safety in the pool and the focus is on learning.
Z

Kids learn by doing

To be effective at teaching, we demonstrate movement physically and help our pupils perfect those movements in the pool. This may involve the teacher supporting your child in a hands-on way.
Z

child protection

All of our staff are DBS checked for child protection purposes.
