What our customers say…

Improving techniques as well as learnt a new one

“My son has just done a weeks crash course with cindy’s swim school and he’s absolutely loved it, (he’s refused to do lessons for ages after not enjoying lessons with a previous teacher and also gets nervous in new environments and new people) so much do he asked if he could do the second week!
His teacher Georgie has really given him a boost in confidence and already he’s improving techniques as well as learnt a new one all while having fun.
He’s also looking forward to starting some regular weekly lessons come September. Thank you” – LS

Instructors were very patient and enthusiastic

“I joined the termly classes in the summer term with Chi Chi which I thoroughly enjoyed. I then returned during the summer holidays for a crash course with Lu Lu who was amazing. My nephew also did a crash course with Lu Lu which he really enjoyed. Both instructors were very patient and enthusiastic.
Thanks to Cheryl for her advice abd taking the time to explain my swimming options. Thanks also to Tamlyn and Claudine who were very efficient responding to emails. Thanks again to all the Cindy Swim team!” – Charlene Bonsu

A great crash course

“Thank you very much for a great crash course. Lulu has been friendly and amazing at teaching my 6 year old how to swim. My daughter felt confident and very much in rhythm with the water. My daughter doesn’t like water on her face and her collecting diving sticks from the bottom of the pool was such a massive challenge/improvement 🤗.
Thanks Lulu 😊” – Joyce K

Why a school holiday swimming crash course?

Our swimming crash courses are both fun and effective!

Swimming daily boosts children’s confidence in the water and we often see them progress their swimming skills leaps and bounds over a short time.

For non-swimmers, intensive swimming lessons are an ideal way to introduce and embed the swimming basics and vital safety skills.

And let’s not forget, school holiday swimming programs definitely help children release their energy and stay active each day, which is a win for parents and carers! It’s a wonderful way to fill holiday time whilst learning something new.

What to expect

Z

Kids learn in small groups

Children go into the water by themselves (i.e. without parents from approximately 2 years old). They of course will be under the watchful eye of our experienced teachers.
Z

Safe and firm teaching

Whilst our classes are enjoyable, we find children benefit from a firm no-nonsense approach to uphold safety in the pool and the focus is on learning.
Z

Kids learn by doing

To be effective at teaching, we demonstrate movement physically and help our pupils perfect those movements in the pool. This may involve the teacher supporting your child in a hands-on way.
Z

Child protection

All of our staff are DBS checked for child protection purposes.

FAQs

Your questions answered about our parent and baby swimming classes with Cindy’s Swim School! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have a question that we haven’t answered. Keep us on our toes!
How old does my child need to be to join a swimming crash course?

Actually there’s no age limit! We run swimming crash courses for all ages, from babies to adult beginners. Our crash courses include parent and baby, toddler, preschool, school aged children and adult beginners. We also offer private 2:1 and 1:1 intensive swimming courses. Please get in touch if you need advice on the best class for your child’s age and stage.

What’s the difference between swimming crash courses and weekly lessons?

Crash courses are typically run over 4 or 5 consecutive days. The daily lessons build on each other for faster progress. They’re a great option for boosting confidence, instilling water safety and improving skills, especially for kids during school holidays. Read our article, “5 surprising benefits of holiday swimming crash courses for kids 😀” for more ways intensive swimming can help you or your child.  Weekly lessons are more spaced out and ideal for learning and maintaining steady progress during term time, and for consistent application and improvement.

Will my child be in the right class for their ability?

Absolutely. You can contact our office if you need advice on the best class and stage for your child.

On day one, our experienced swim teachers assess each swimmer to ensure they’re placed in the right level. Throughout the week, the group is supported with personalised guidance to help every child progress at their own pace.

Are swimming crash courses suitable for nervous beginners?

Yes! In fact, they’re ideal for nervous swimmers. Our teachers are well-trained to support nervous swimmers and the consistency of daily lessons helps grow trust and confidence more quickly, reducing fear and building familiarity with the water.

What should we bring to the swimming crash course?

Please bring swimwear, towel, goggles and a swimming cap. If your child is younger and not fully toilet-trained, a neoprene swim nappy and a reusable swim nappy are required for each lesson. Wear the neoprene swim nappy over the top of a swim nappy to prevent any leaks in the pool.

Can my child continue lessons after the crash course?

Definitely. Many children continue with weekly lessons to build on their progress, and we’ll be happy to advise you on the best class for their next step.

Do you run crash courses every school holiday?

Yes, we run intensive swimming lessons during most school holidays, including half term and Easter breaks. Availability can vary, so we recommend booking early! We always offer discounts for early bookers, so follow us on social media or join our mailing list and be the first to get the latest offers.

Do parents have to stay at poolside during the crash course lessons?

Yes, parents stay on-site during crash course lessons. If a child needs to go to the loo, then we need parents to take them, as the teacher cannot leave the pool. There will be seating for parents too.
